Filter sand with a grain size of 1–2 mm is made from exceptionally high-quality, crystal-clear quartz material. It is highly resistant to wear and crushing, meaning it remains sharp even after several years of use, so there is no need for seasonal replacement.
It is used as the bottom layer in larger filters. First, the coarse sand (1–2 mm) is added to the filter, followed by a layer of fine sand (0.4–0.8 mm). This filling method improves filtration and ensures long-lasting operation.
It is not suitable for smaller filters (up to 50 kg) – only fine sand (0.4–0.8 mm) should be used there. We recommend following the instructions provided with your filter upon purchase.
